It is actually a game of numbers.
If for every 10 DM you send, you receive 1 response
You then know that to get 10 response, you'll need to send 100 DMs±
One of my many stories:
Once, I was running a founder and investor survey.
I wasn't begging these peeps to employ me
Neither was I asking them for money.
All I needed at that point, was for them to fill a one minute survey.
I had sent out over 100 DMs to Web3 founders and investors to fill out a survey for a business research work
Far from what I expect, I keep getting series of unanswered DMssssss
It didn't take long for me to wonder. And yes, I did wonder if I'm doing something wrong.
I pondered:
Maybe I don't flatter them so much
Maybe I'm too direct
Or I was saying "hi" instead of "good morning"
I can't tell you the number of thoughts I had due to their many "no response"
I don't know much but what I do know is this, I hope it helps:
“Your success rate and failure rate are proportional to each other. For your success rate to increase, your failure rate has to increase as well.”
Say from the 100 DMs, I got 8 responses. It yielded results but not what I wanted. I wanted more. Since 100 outreach didn't do it, I should hope that 300 will probably give me what I want.
Keep at your hustle
Keep researching those gems
Keep at whatever good thing you're doing
Soon, the number will be even and it'll present the opportunity you desire.
Keep grinding!
